Beatrice O'Connell: Overwintering on the Moon

Beatrice O'Connell presents new mixed media paintings at her first solo exhibition at Taylor Galleries. Her work examines bionomic behaviour and interconnectivity in the face of climate crisis, inspired by research on diverse perspectives within ecological storytelling, poetry and literature. 



 


 

Beatrice's practice is multi disciplinary; encompassing drawing, painting, animation, video, sound, sculpture and installation. With a painting practice spanning 27 years, she has had, amongst others, solo exhibitions in the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery and the Hunt Museum, Limerick. Recent exhibitions include Taylor Galleries Winter Group Show 2023/24 and 'Landmarks' at the Pearse Museum 2022-23. Selected national group exhibitions include the RHA Annual Exhibition, Rua Red Winter Open, RUA Belfast and the Claremorris Gallery. International selected exhibitions include The Centre for the Less Good Idea, Johannesburg SA, Beep Painting Biennial, Swansea UK, and The Border Art Prize, QLD, Australia.
